Sand and glass are the same stuff.

Each conforms to a different definition of the word fluid.

When nuclear weapons are tested on land, all the organic material in the soil beneath is vaporized and the remaining sand is fused into a wide glass bowl.

If it rains, the the crater will fill with water, and form a small radioactive lake.

Maybe it glows.

The sun is a raging nuclear furnace.

It's material is fluid. It is not liquid.

It's plasma.

Plasma is next in line following solid, liquid, gas...

Gas is fluid.

A fluid will conform to the shape of a container. Gas will also.

If you let a piece of glass stand in a container. It will conform to the shape of that container the way water will.

It would take a long time. More time than we have.

If you see windows in a really old house (really old, like eight hundred years old) and you measure the thickness of the glass at the top and compare it to the thickness of the glass at the bottom, you will probably notice that the glass is slightly thicker at the bottom. It's flowing. It's like molasses, but much more so.

Real solids won't do this. Crystalline structures won't do this.

Am I fluid?

Am I glass?

Do I have enough time to find out?
